Caring for others begins with caring for yourself
About Shelby
Shelby Heppner is a Registered Massage Therapist based in Prince George, BC. Her RMT career began in Quesnel in July 2024, and she chose to relocate to Prince George in December 2025 to continue growing her practice and supporting a new community. She completed her training at the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in Victoria.
Before becoming an RMT, Shelby spent over a decade working in the construction industry, operating heavy equipment. This experience gave her a deep appreciation for the physical demands of manual work and a strong understanding of how pain, injury, and repetitive strain can impact daily life.
Her treatment approach is patient-centered and trauma-informed, often incorporating Swedish massage techniques, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, passive and active stretching, and joint play and mobilizations. Each treatment is tailored to her clients’ individual needs and goals, which remains her top priority. Shelby also believes that a person’s health and wellness journey should continue when they leave the treatment room- self-care and consistent maintenance at home can be just as beneficial with the right tools, guidance, and encouragement.
Shelby has worked with clients through many different conditions and stages of life, including pregnancy, post-surgical recovery, and cancer care. She also completed a Practice Development Program course on headaches and temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMJ dysfunction), which provided her with additional techniques and knowledge to work intraorally, when indicated.
Outside the clinic, she enjoys spending time outdoors- whether it’s hiking, paddleboarding, fishing, or exploring. She also loves a good book and keeping active in her day-to-day life.

Frequently Asked Questions

I don’t label my treatments as “deep tissue,” but I do incorporate therapeutic techniques that work into deeper layers when appropriate. My goal is to provide care that’s effective and safe- for both you and me. Massage therapy can be physically demanding, and I want to protect my body so I can continue helping others for years to come. True deep work is about working slowly, intentionally, and effectively, not with excessive force.
-

Before your first visit, you’ll fill out an intake form which I review in advance. At the start, we’ll go over your form, ensuring massage is safe for you, we will discuss consent, and you’ll have time to ask questions. An interview and an assessment will help us create a treatment plan together. I will explain how I would like you to get on the table.
I’ll then leave the room so you can undress (or remain dressed if you prefer) and get comfortably positioned between the sheets on the massage table. When I return (after knocking or announcing myself), we’ll begin treatment. Consent will always be asked before undraping any area.
At the end, I’ll leave the room again for you to get ready. We’ll finish with a short post-treatment discussion, proceed with billing, and I may offer homecare suggestions to support you between visits.

Not at all. You are always in control of your comfort. Massage can be done over clothing if you prefer, or with draping that keeps you covered at all times. Your choice!
-
Yes, I direct bill with most major insurance providers, including Pacific Blue Cross, Sun Life, Telus Health, Medavie, Greenshield, and more. Please be prepared to show your benefits card at your appointment.

If you’re unwell- even with mild cold or flu symptoms- please don’t come in. I won’t treat anyone showing signs of illness to help keep everyone healthy.
I trust and expect honesty when cancelling for illness. Let me know as soon as possible if you need to cancel- no late fee will apply. Your health (and mine!) comes first.
